5 fruits and vegetables everyday, honestly I do try to eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day but I eat mostly more fruits than vegetables, I love to eat more fruits than vegetables but I think that I should eat more vegetables. I eat fruits at home mostly at night, in the morning, and maybe during the day. And the only time I eat vegetables are either in dinner or lunch. I will try to eat more vegetables, but other than that I think that I am getting my daily 5 fruits and vegetables.

4 glasses of water a day, I think that I should drink a lot more water, usually I have been drinking 2-3 glasses of water a day, but I know that isn't really good for me especially because I live in Singapore. I think to help me drink more water is to maybe finish the water in my water bottle each day, so when I get home I know that I have at least drank some water throughout the day. I usually drink water throughout the day but I don't think it's enough, but I make sure that I drink water before going to bed and waking up. So I personally think that I need to make sure that I am drinking 4 glasses of water a day.

3 laughs with friends, I think that I definitely get 3 laughs with friends and family everyday. I know that I definitely get at least 3 laughs a day because I stay positive, and I love having friends around that I can talk to. Speaking of being positive and having positive thoughts I think that I could be negative at times, but I try to stay positive as much as I can. I make sure that I get 3 laughs a day by talking to my friends at lunch and at break time, and talking to my family after school. So I definitely think that I have 3 laughs with friends and family a day.

Less than 2 hours of screen time, I definitely spend a lot more than 2 hours of screen time besides homework on the computer. On weekdays I get screen time after school, but on weekdays I usually spend the whole day having screen time but I make sure that I go outside to walk. I'm usually on my laptop, but if I'm not on my laptop I'll be on my phone, and I sometimes would turn on the TV if I'm bored. On weekdays I also use my phone in the morning on my bus ride to school. So I think that I need to spend a lot less time on the laptop, and other electronics.

At least 1 hour of physical activity, I think that I don't always get a hour a day of physical activity every single day, but I do try to fit some physical activity into my time throughout the week. Somedays I try to join my mom on a hike/walk on weekends. On somedays of the week I go swimming with my mom, but I also dance at home just for fun. I think that it would be better for me to go out more and do more physical activities with friends and family.

8 hours of sleep, I know that I sleep at least 8 hours a day, but on somedays I get less than that. On school days I sleep at around 10-10:15 and I wake up at 6:15, which means I sleep 8 hours on weekdays. But on weekends I sleep at around 11 or 10 and wake up at around 8 or 9. If I don't get enough sleep on school days I get cranky and I can't concentrate on my school work, especially if I have to read something. I think that everyone should make sure they get enough sleep at night because it really does effect your body, and how you grow.

Parent and Student Laptop Agreement

As you may have known from reading my past blog posts, we have had laptop bootcamp to get us ready to bring our laptops home! Well, recently we were told we were bringing our laptops home earlier than planned. To make sure we get to bring our laptops home we must talk to our parents about what we have learned from boot camp, and fill out a form about the agreements on using the laptop. I think I'm responsible to bring my laptop home and back to school each day because usually I make sure I have all my finished homework in my backpack the night before. Also recently I just got a new Mac and have applied the things I learned from boot camp to not only just my laptop at school but also to my new Mac at home. From my other laptop care posts I talked about how when we bring our laptops back home, everyday we need to come to school all prepared, and to do that we will have to charge our laptops overnight to have a fully charged laptop. So to make sure I get my laptop charged and ready to go for my school day is to have my laptop charged in my room where I usually charge all my other electronics, such as my phone and I never leave my phone. To make sure my laptop is actually charged I will charge my laptop after I get ready for bed, like right after I brush my teeth. Which also means I will double check it is charging right before I go to bed. These are some of the things I will make sure to do when I bring my laptop home, I can't wait!

Definition of Wellness

During PE health class we were talking about the meaning of wellness, we brainstormed many ideas of what wellness is. From my point a view, wellness means getting a balance from sitting inside/rest and being active and being outside. Another thing that I think wellness means is getting enough sleep, that means going to bed at a reasonable time, not only that but to wake up also at a reasonable time. One last definition that I would give wellness is eating healthy and living a healthy life. That mainly means eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, and not much junk food, and when living a healthy life you need to have plenty of exercise. Thats the definition I would give the word "wellness."

My 1st Semester Reading Goal

Every year we have a goal, whether its participating more or doing my homework. Now in middle school we have different classes, which probably mean we have several goals, well in RLA we made a goal. For the first semester my reading goal is to read every single night for at least 30 minutes. I decided this should be my goal because on some nights I read less than 30 minutes, some nights I'm really busy, but some nights I'm just too lazy to read for a total of 30 minutes. I think I may struggle with this goal at times because some nights I might have a after school activity and a lot of homework that I don't have enough time to read for at least 30 minutes. Since this year my RLA class has a reading log to keep track of your reading, I will check/fill the log out every night. And if I have read 30 minutes each night then I will think I have accomplished this goal. We all know it's a good way to accomplish something because after actually accomplishing something you will always get to celebrate. For example last year (5th grade) we had a thing called genre pizza, and that was where people read 8 different genres during a time frame, and if you did accomplish it you were rewarded to a pizza party. Well if I do accomplish my reading goal of reading for at least 30 minutes each night I will celebrate by having a fun filled day with a bunch of friends. This will definitely make me want to accomplish this goal.

Reading Frankenstein

Something I did good on was that you could understand what I was reading and that I was reading at a medium speed. I think that something I could work on, is not pausing after I read a few sentences because you could hear me pause after a few sentences.

Digital Citizenship

I want to build a positive digital footprint. I want to demonstrate that I am a good communicator, that I can think creatively, and that I am a reflective learner.

So who will I be online?

Here are my blogging guidelines:

1. Only post things that you would want everyone to know.
Ask yourself: Is this something I would want my Mom to see?
Be responsible.

2. Do not share personal information.
Ask yourself: Could someone find me (in real life) based on this information?
Be responsible.

3. Think before you post.
Ask yourself: What could be the consequences of this post?
Be respectful, responsible, and honest.

4. Know who you’re communicating with.
Ask yourself: Who is going to look at this, and how are they going to interpret my words?
Be respectful.

5. Use appropriate language and proper grammar and spelling.
Ask yourself: Have I used a spell checked and re-read over my post?
Be responsible.

6. Only post information that you can verify is true (no gossiping).
Ask yourself: Is this inappropriate, immature or bullying?
Be honest, respectful, compassionate, and responsible.

7. Anytime you use media from another source, be sure to properly cite the creator of the original work.
Ask yourself: Who is the original creator of this work?
Be honest.
