In RLA, we're recently been reading a lot of mythology. With greek gods, mortals, and morals, and so much more! Mythology is a great genre, it has crazy information about Greece and just about how to live life the right way. Since we've been reading myths, I've decided that one of my favourite myths are "The Theft of Persephone." I chose this myth because I thought that it taught me a really good life lesson, and it was very interesting to see the relationship between the gods and characters. I decided to us the iPhone text generator for mythology 2.0 because it looked very simple, yet you could tell a lot from it. So here, I present my text message of the conversations between Zeus and Hades:

Friendships for the Better Personal Essay
Friendships for the Better
Happy, fun, humor, thoughtful, is helping, loyal, nice, true, unique, confidence, and original. For some, this list of characteristics is what most of us find in a great friend. Let’s face it, friends make our lives better, they brighten up our day. Even though friendships may have their ups and downs, they still are your friends at the end of the day, they stick with you through thick and thin. That’s why I think that friendships make you a better person.
Have you ever realized that some people act differently with friends than with strangers? I’m not afraid to say, I’m one of those people who act differently with friends. Even though this might seem like a bad habit, I actually think that when I’m with strangers with a few friends I’m not scared to talk to the stranger. But when I’m not with friends and I’m with a stranger I might act really shy and not want to speak to the person. I’m proud to say that when I’m with friends I’m like a whole other person who is loud and not afraid to do anything unlike when I’m alone with a stranger.
No matter who the person, friendships can make people better. Even though I’m still a child, I have realized that friendships have been apart of my life ever since I was a little girl, and they might even stick with me until I grow up. This is why I think that friendships still make me a person no matter how old I am, but especially when I’m a child. I remember when I was around three; I wasn’t really the little girl who loved to share items with others. And since I didn’t like to share, when I was playing with dolls or toys with friends, I didn’t like to share with them. But that’s when one of my closest friends taught me a lesson, that you should always share and that sharing is caring. Ever since that event I try to always remember that myself and everyone else must be reminded to share and not be selfish. Not only did this help me learn about sharing, but it made me realize that if I didn’t have this friend that taught me this, I wouldn’t have any other friends. This moment also made me realize that friendships can impact you at anytime and age in your life.
As I said before, friendships can impact you at anytime and age in your life. But I forgot to mention that friendships can be made anywhere in life too! The main place where many people and I have met our main groups of friends is at school. I think that friendships make us a better person in school because my friends encourage me to try different activities, maybe there was a girl who had always wanted to try a new sport but she thought that she might not get into the team. Her friends will be there to encourage her, and maybe even just join the team with her. Another reason why I believe that friendships make us a better person at school is because they make school fun! Without friends school would be a lot more boring, I wouldn’t have people to share my thoughts and emotions
to, and without friends I would be very quite. Finally, I think that friendships make us a better person at school because friends help us feel like we should always want to go to school. Friends make you want to go back to school each day because you might have a lot more to say to each other.
Friendships are a huge part of everybody's’ life, these friendships have made us the person we are today. That’s why you should always treasure the moments and times you have spent with your friends. It helps you realize that you should give them a lot more appreciation and just “thank” them for helping you grow as a better person.

Strategic Learning Blog Post #3 Powerschool

How did it go?
I think it went pretty well.
How do you know?
Well, from some of the subjects in the pictures above, I could tell that these were the subjects that I had most improvement or more of a down hill fall (grade wise.) In strategic learning, we pay the most attention to the last five grades. In science, as you can see my last five grades were four A's and one C, I think this C warned me and told me that I should study smarter the night before the test. But, as you can see in my Chinese grade, I started off really rocky by getting one C and one D, but you can see the improvement I had made. By seeing the C and D change into the B's and a couple of A's. Something that really stood out about my math grade, was that even though my last five grades were pretty well, I started off with a B as my final grade. But now after strategic learning and using stickies I have managed to raise my math grade into an A. These were some of the evidence from my powerschool.
What will you do now as a result?
Right now, I look at my stickies to make sure I know what type of homework I need to do, and if I'm on time with all the homework. Also now I will consistently check my time table to see when I am able to have time to do my own stuff and homework, it helps me see at what time of the day I can study for quizzes or tests. I will also pay a lot of attention to my grades in Powerschool, so if I am not doing too well in one subject I will study smarter to raise that grade. I will continue to do all these steps.

Brother and Sister Rivalry New Year New Ideas
Brother and Sister Rivalry
Siblings usually get along from time to time, but that’s different from my oldest brother and I. Throughout my life I have had to live with two older brothers, and I never knew how difficult it would be. It was just an ordinary day during a great winter break, I was pretty happy since after all I was with all of my family, which was weird because my brothers go to college in different places. I never really liked my older brother. His name is Eugene. The both of us never got along especially because all he does is nag me. But today was not the greatest day between the both of us.
My mom had to go to the bank, while my dad was taking care of some business. While my second brother, Felix was just playing video games locked inside his room. Which meant this left me alone with Eugene. “Oh fun I’m left with you…” I said to him, while being sat on the couch next to him.
“Why are you being so annoying and having such a bad attitude? You should be happy to have me as your brother,” he replied to my comment.
“Well, I’m sorry that I learned all these things from you. After all you're one of the worst person I have ever known.” I said without thinking. Which was bad because I didn’t know what would happen to me after I made that comment out loud. Wow, I should really keep things to myself sometimes… You may be wondering, “What happened?” Well, after I made that comment he got all mad and we had one of the worst conversations of my entire life.
“You know you should really think about wanting to go to a boarding school in a different country or maybe move somewhere else, since you’ve been in Singapore for way too long,” he started off saying. This got me so annoyed; this was the only subject he would ever talk to me about. “Oh and you should also think about joining some sports,” he added on.
“Do you ever talk about anything else, oh wait let me rephrase that, why are you so annoying all the time?” I talked back. I never ever liked talking to Eugene. This time I’ve had enough, and decided to hit him. Uh oh, shouldn’t have did that now I’m going to have the worst day of my life. And yet I knew it was coming, he hit me so hard I could feel my arm swell. I could suddenly hear the front door open, YES!!!!! IT’S MOM AND DAD!!!!! “Mom dad! You guys saved me from being killed by this one!” I said while pointing to my oldest brother.
“Until next time, my sister.” He replied before I got up off the couch. I love my brothers but this was a terrible time for me. After all, siblings don’t get along all the time. I knew this wasn’t the last of that conversation.

Ancient Egypt Reflection
The artifact I chose to recreate was The Eye of Horus Amulet. I decided to choose this artifact because it looked really fascinating, yet very simple. It also seemed like since I saw this symbol as a hieroglyph it would be a really meaningful artifact. I first planned all the materials I needed. Those materials were clay, paint, and other materials (paintbrush, pencils, etc.) I looked at a picture and started modelling the clay to make the amulet. In every project there are always obstacles you have to overcome. During this project, the obstacle I had to overcome was that my artifact looked NOTHING like the actual artifact/picture. To overcome this obstacle I decided to examine the picture first and then re-make it. Something I learned about myself during this project experience, was that if I didn't procrastinate that much I would've been able to make it more detailed and better. I also learned that if I put my mind and
heart into making a project it will turn out the way I would like it to.

Strategic Learning Phase 2 Reflection
How is it going?
It's going pretty good.
How do you know?
As you can see from the picture above of my stickies, I try to update my stickies pretty often. I also make sure that the layout of my stickies are good and easy to read, so I put the name of the subject at the top of the stickies. I also make sure to write "done" and "no homework" to tell me what I have done and to help me be more organised. Another thing that helps me is that I look back at Google Calendars to remind me what homework I have to put on my stickies.
Strategic Learning Phase 2
1. How Do You Think It's Going?
I think that I'm doing pretty well with phase two.
2. How Do You Know?
I know that I'm doing phase 2 pretty well because as you can see from the above I try to update them pretty often, and when I'm done with that piece of homework I make sure I say I'm "DONE" to remind me.
